Description
Carfentanil (or carfentanyl) is an ultra-potent synthetic opioid, developed in 1974, that is primarily used as a veterinary tranquilizer for large animals, such as elephants. It is not approved for human use due to its extreme potency, which is estimated to be 10,000 times more powerful than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl.
